Martini Recipes - Lemondrop Martini Recipe

Martini Recipes - Lemondrop Martini Recipe

Martini Recipes - Lemondrop Martini Recipe

I would argue that a traditional martini is one of the manliest drinks out there. I mean, hell, it was Frank Sinatra’s drink of choice and you can’t get and more manly than him. Over the years, however, there have been many different kinds of martinis created with more sugar added which turned to be more, well, girlie. So for all you ladies, this recipe is for you.
There is no martini that goes down much smoother than the lemondrop martini. It’s sweet and sour at the same time. The garnish is fun, and you can drink them all night long. Warning Ladies! They go down super smooth so be careful!

Ingredients

1 1/2 oz Tito’s Vodka
1/2 oz Triple Sec
1 tsp fine sugar
3/4 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
Granulated sugar for dipping
lemon drop candies crushed fine for dipping
Twisted lemon peel
Ice

Instructions

In a shaker add 6-8 ice cubes, Vodka, Triple sec, fine sugar (put sugar in a blender if you don’t have fine baking sugar) and lemon juice.
Crush a couple lemon drop candies with the granulated sugar and put in a saucer dish for dipping the rim of your glasses in.
Gently shake the mixed up concoction as to not ruin or bruise the alchohol until the sugar has disolved.
Pour into martini glass and garnish with ribbons of lemon peel dipped into sugar mixture.

Martini Recipes - Marilyn Monroe Martini

Martini Recipes - Marilyn Monroe Martini

Martini Recipes - Marilyn Monroe Martini

When I think of martinis, I always think of the more fashionable times of Sinatra, foxtrots, and the lounge culture. There is no woman that epitomizes that era quite like Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn was all about the sex appeal, the song, and the girly drink. In particular, Marilyn loved champagne. That is why most drinks that bear her name have this as the central ingredient of the drink. This martini is no different. It’s fun, lively, and should be brought out in the party setting.

Ingredients

4 oz Champagne
1 oz Apple Brandy
1 tsp grenadine syrup

Instructions

Pour all ingredients into a champagne saucer or martini glass. Garnish with 2 cherries.

Martini Recipes - Frank Sinatra Martini (Dry Manhattan)

Martini Recipes - Frank Sinatra Martini (Dry Manhattan)

Martini Recipes - Frank Sinatra Martini (Dry Manhattan)

Noone characterized the martini as a drink of the suave and sophisticate man quite like Frank Sinatra. You may know Frank from his music. You many know him from the movies. Either way, you know him to be truly cooly and forever suave.

Old blue eyes and his Rat Pack made drinking the thing to do in their day and they made the martinivery cool. Sinatra’s drink of choice was the “Dry Manhattan”. This is a simple drink made of Canadian whiskey, Dry Vermouth, and Bitters.
Here’s the recipe:

1.5 oz Canadian Whiskey
¾ oz dry Vermouth
1 dash Angostura bitters

Stir well in a mixing glass filled with ice or in a shaker. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with a lemon peel.
So the next time you think that you’re man enough to be a gangster and date Marilyn Monroe like Frankie, you may want to start with this drink first.

Martini Recipe - Cosmopolitan

Martini Recipe - Cosmopolitan

So the purists out there will probably scoff at the idea that a Cosmopolitan would grace the pages of this Martini recipe blog.

The truth of the matter is that this drink is exceedingly popular with the ladies and it is traditionally served in a Martini glass. So I would be re missed if I omitted it here.

The cosmopolitan is a drink made popular first by french women in the early 20s and later became en vogue across the country. Its popularity is rooted in the fact that it is a very fun beverage to drink and it is easy as the cranberry juice covers up any bad vodka that might be used. If you recognize the recipe like that of a Cape Code (or Cranberry-Vodka), then you're right. The addition of the Triple Sec and Lime Juice really make this one a treat.

Martini Ingredients
2 parts vodka
1 part triple sec
1 part lime juice
1 part cranberry juice

Martini Instructions
Mix the vodka, triple sec, lime and cranberry juice togetther in a shaker with ice. Strain into a martini glass, add a lime wedge on the rim of the glass for garnish, and serve.
